PASEO ENTRADA

2024

Paseo Entrada is a private residence in Rancho Mirage, set against the Santa Rosa Mountains with an open view across the Coachella Valley. The property began as a mix of bare concrete hardscape and drought-stressed lawn, disconnected from the scale and character of its surroundings.

Toffey Studio reorganized the exterior around what the site already offered: the mountain behind it, the valley ahead, and the structure of a classic desert hacienda. Terracotta brick, decomposed granite, and wrought iron introduced warmth and continuity, tying the landscape more closely to the architecture.

Bougainvillea was trained along the walls, citrus trees added canopy and structure, and a Mediterranean planting palette softened the harder edges throughout. The courtyard now feels more settled into the property, with the materials and planting framing the view rather than competing with it.
