AMBASSADOR

Ambassador is a Palm Springs residence organized around a checkerboard travertine floor, which gives the garden its structure and sets the material language for the rest of the space. A green-tiled spa sits flush with the paving, with its frame extending into a built-in bench.

The outdoor kitchen runs along the back wall, bringing together a grill, pizza oven, and under-counter refrigerator without taking over the yard. A retractable aluminum pergola shades the dining area and allows it to shift with the time of day and season.

In the narrower parts of the property, gravel paths and terracotta planters filled with sansevieria create rhythm and definition. The planting draws from both Mediterranean and desert landscapes, using olive trees, sages, and silvery drought-tolerant species suited to the Palm Springs climate.

Throughout, hard lines are softened by planting, texture, and shade. Travertine, green tile, gravel, terracotta, and aluminum give the garden a clear visual order while keeping it comfortable and easy to live in.
